As many of you may know, I have been vegetarian since May 21, 2011.
Like I always say, “Being vegetarian may not necessarily extend your life, but it can possibly improve the quality of your life.”
However, I must admit, I have not always maintained a healthy diet. My go to “vegetarian” foods were pasta, potatoes, cookies, chips, and especially Key Lime Pie.
So, on April 8th, I accepted a Health & Wellness Weight Loss Challenge. I began again to eat “cleaner” and only put “healthy” food in my body. By doing that, an amazing thing happened; it seemed as if my brain shifted into a different mode and I began to think differently about food.
I no longer had the desire for unhealthy food, i.e., fast food, sugary drinks, chips, cookies, or anything with added sugar.
I developed a heightened sense of awareness of what is good for me to eat; even within a matter of days of accepting the challenge to eat healthy.
Now, when I am offered a food item that may be considered unhealthy, I am not at all tempted. I do not want to “defile” my temple with anything that is potentially not good for my body. (Please comment if you can relate.)
Speaking of defiling my temple… we know, as Christians, we are the temple of God and His Spirit lives in us. (1 Corinthians 3:16 & 17)
With all of that being said, I would like to encourage everyone who is reading this blog to accept my Health & Wellness Weight Loss Challenge and to also make a conscience decision to live a healthier lifestyle and to eat a cleaner diet… with more fruit,🍌 🍎 🍉 vegetables 🍅 🌽 🌶 and plenty of fresh water. 💧 💦
