Cauliflower Crust Pizza

Anyone who knows me, know that I LOVE PIZZA!!

Unfortunately, my quest for a healthier lifestyle would definitely eliminate pizza, but my unending desire for pizza was ever present.  I even tried the “Burrito Crust” pizza, but it was not quite satisfying – the burrito crust was a little too soggy for my taste… Woe is me!!

Until now!!!  EUREKA, I have discovered a 100% vegetarian pizza; even the crust is made with a vegetable – who knew – Ta Da – CAULIFLOWER pizza crust!!

The cauliflower crust pizza is not my original recipe; however, I made a few tweeks to my liking… and, I would like to share this awesome delight with all of you.

Things you need:
Cauliflower
1 Egg
Mozzarella Cheese
Onion Powder
Garlic Powder
Finely Ground Pepper
Pizza Sauce
Your Favorite Pizza Toppings
Parchment Paper

Step 1:
Preheat Oven to 400 Degrees.  Grate enough cauliflower for 2 cups.

Step 2:
Remove the excess moisture from the grated cauliflower by heating it in a pan over low heat for about 10 minutes – you do not want to brown the cauliflower.

Step 3:
Set the cauliflower aside to cool.  Beat 1 egg in a bowl.

Step 4:
Add 1 cup of mozzarella cheese to the beaten egg – mix well.

Step 5:
Add the cooled cauliflower; 1/2 teaspoon onion power; 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder; and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper; to the egg / mozzarella mixture – combine thoroughly to form the “crust”.

Step 6:  Shape the cauliflower mixture (crust) into a ball.

Step 7: Place the ball on parchment paper and shape into a round (approximately 10″) or square pizza crust.  NOTE: be sure to use parchment paper or the cauliflower crust may stick to the pan and tear after baking.

Step 8:  Bake the cauliflower crust for 15 to 20 minutes.

  1. That looks yummy, Babs! So, will you be including easy recipes on the blog from now on? I’m trying to build up my palate by adding veggies to my plate. Right now I only like broccoli, beets, and sweet potatoes. 😀 Help a sistah out, please. ❤
